Hello, I am C.S. Chan, an Asian American fiction author.
I was born and raised in Singapore and spent the majority of my adult life in the U.S.
I currently work as an educator in upstate New York. While I’m thankful for all the organizations I have and had been affiliated with, all creative expression and opinions I make are those of my own and do not represent that of any group.
For many years, I established myself as a scientist and an educator, which I appreciate to no end.
As I struggled to answer questions with what my Ph.D. education and logical thinking have endowed me, I realized there is another layer of truth– a richer, deeper, and omnipotent truth that lies within us.
As if through serendipity, I discovered the power of the subconscious mind through hypnosis. As a hypnotist, I have helped numerous people, including myself, discover a more meaningful existence through listening to one’s inner voice.
I have always loved to write, since I learned to hold a pencil in my hand. My writing used to span from the most technically stringent scientific publications to the wayward rampage on a journal page. Fast-forward to today–this is where the variety of my life experiences intersect–the creation of contemporary fiction.
My stories typically have elements of magical realism, humor, symbolism, and most importantly, love. They are told from a first-person perspective by a strong female protagonist in a multicultural setting. If you love a deeply introspective narrative, multi-dimensional characters that make you laugh, cry, and melt, a story with clever plot twists that cast you into the throes of naked reality, sit tight.
